Visual Appeal
Creativity
Elements and Principles Of Design
Presentation Quality of floor plan, elevation or perspective
Basic Safety & Ergonomics Projects with an obvious disregard for the health, safety and welfare of the clients will be disqualified. See Entry Tips page for Ontario Building Code guideline for cabinetry clearance above cooking surface

Principles of Design: Balance, rhythm, emphasis 10.0%
Materials Selection: Creative ideas and use of unique material 5.0%
Layout: Integration of creative concept into overall space 5.0%
Ergonmic: Heights and clearances of countertops, cabinets, location of appliances, work flow 5.0%
Safety: Door entries/traffic patterns, Work flow/prep area, Adequate Clearances, appropriate landing space next to cooking surface , GFCI & Fire extinguisher 5.0%
Creative Concept: Design solution to meet client's needs and their wants 10.0%
Design Integration: Execution and use of space 10.0%
Creative Use of Components: Use of products, materials, and design elements 10.0%
Visual Appeal: The Wow Factor 15.0%
Design Statement (required): Concise description that conveys the project 5.0%
Floor Plan (required): Legible, dimensioned, and accurately drawn 5.0%
Interpretive Drawings : Elevation or perspective (required): Legible, dimensioned, and accurately drawn 5.0%
